If you’ve got 300 millis to spend on getting you’re image back in shape, then you must be Microsoft. I’ve been waiting to see these commercials since I found out that Jerry Seinfeld gets 10 million off of this deal. And here it is, its not much, and it isnt really that funny.. but I think thats not their goal here. This ad just wants to introduce Bill and Jerry as characters in this long line of commercials so it just tries to be cute and charming. And as much as possible distance itself from the aggressive Mac ads. Well, I’m looking forward to the next episodes.

I was looking through Dell’s website and I came across the new inspiron minis (starting price $349).
Its not really that big of a surprise that Dell announced this new line of netbooks Michael Dell was spotted carrying one of these things around LAST MAY, talk about being Dell’s worst kept secret. But at least it did help their stocks go up ever so slightly on Thursday.
Specs include an Atom 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM and 16GB SSD. This lone model will run Windows XP Home with an 8.9-inch display screen (1024×600 pixel resolution) weighing 2.28 pounds.

If you own a Vaio please visit this link to find out if your laptop is affected. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?template_id=1&news_id=272
Sony has recalled 440,000 laptops (73,000 from the US) because of a wiring flaw that could cause overheating. They’ve said improperly placed wires near the hinge connecting the body of the laptop and its display could wear quickly, causing a short circuit and overheating. A flaw in a circuit board inside the display could also overheat its rim. According to Sony they’ve received 15 reports of TZ series overheating from the US and 209 worldwide.
Dear Valued Sony VAIO Customer,
Sony takes pride in the quality of its products. Recently, we became aware of a potential issue affecting the following notebook PC models:
- VGN-TZ100 series
- VGN-TZ200 series
- VGN-TZ300 series
- VGN-TZ2000 series
The issue involves a small number of units which may overheat due to a wiring problem. Sony has initiated a voluntary program to perform a free inspection and, if necessary, a repair to ensure these units meet our high quality standards.
On a personal note, I’m still wondering whats so special about these Sony laptops. They’re usually way too overpriced compared to other laptops of similar specs. Sure you get to flaunt the Sony Vaio logo, you get nice design, and some nice creative software but we already have Apple Macbooks to take care of all of that.

Yes, you’re not dreaming the 360 is now cheaper than the Wii. This is the first time that one of the 3 current gen consoles dipped below the $200 mark. These price cuts take effect today in the U.S. and have been implemented in Japan a few weeks back. It’s a great move on Microsoft’s part especially since were already in the “-ber” months, and Christmas season is usually when the games industry rakes in the big bucks. Price cuts are as follows:
Xbox 360 Arcade (no hard drive) -> $199 from $279
Xbox 360 Pro (60gb hard drive) -> $299 from $349
Xbox 360 Elite (120gb hard drive) -> $399 from $449
*current price of Sony PS3 40gb is $399 while the Nintendo Wii is %250*
Current Xbox 360 prices in Singapore are as follows: Arcade $399 Pro $490 Elite $699
Another list that will boost Xbox 360 sales even further is their upcoming holiday lineup:
Left 4 Dead – Nov 4th
Viva Pinata: Trouble in Pardise: TBA
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts: Nov 2008
Gears of War 2: Nov 7th
Infinite Undiscovery: Sept 2nd
Fable 2: Oct 2008
Even for a PS3 fanboy such as myself, this offer seems too good to resist. And speaking about Sony, they’ve also made an announcement, “no price cuts planned, only better marketing.”
